Avenir

OUR STORY

A care bed that belongs in a bedroom

Avenir began with a simple objection: the moment a family needs an adjustable bed, the bedroom stops looking like a bedroom. We set out to build something that does everything a medical bed does, and still reads as furniture.

Avenir is French for the future.

We chose the word deliberately. What lies ahead for any of us is not a question of medicine alone — it is a question of how well we are able to live. So we design objects that raise the quality of daily life and happen to be beautiful enough to keep: adaptive by engineering, considered by design. That is the future of adaptive living, and it is the only brief we work to.

Dignity is a design decision

Clinical equipment is designed for the person caring, rarely for the person cared for. It arrives in white steel and grey plastic, and it announces illness to every visitor who walks past the door.

We took the opposite brief. Genuine wood finishes, joinery detailed like fine cabinetry, and the mechanism kept out of sight — so the bed sits alongside the furniture already in the room rather than replacing it.

What that changes is not only how the room looks. It changes how the person in the bed is seen — as someone living at home, not someone in a ward.

WHAT WE HOLD TO

Three things we refuse to trade away

Medically capable

CE certified, with the full range of adjustment a medical bed provides — height, backrest and leg positioning — operated from a discreet handset.

Built for recovery

For those living with paralysis, cardiac recovery or limited mobility: sit up, rest back and reposition without needing to ask for help.

Made for ageing well

For those 65 and beyond, a bed that anticipates slower mornings and quieter nights, so daily living stays independent and dignified.

Every order begins with a conversation

Before anything is dispatched, we talk through mobility needs, room fit and finishes — and our team delivers and installs the bed in person.
